Plating Process Specialist

SUMMARY: The purpose of this job is to ensure plating disciplines are followed that parts are processed according to customer specifications and production efficiencies by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Acts a resource for line operators and coordinators to troubleshoot plating lines.
  • Performs process audits on all plating lines on a weekly basis.
  • Oversees Solution Maintenance procedures and audits for the plating lines.
  • Serves as a member of all product improvement teams.
  • Assesses and analyzes lines on a continual basis for productivity improvements.
  • Monitors process control by performing daily process control walk-throughs on all plating lines.
  • Calibrates pace feeders as needed.
  • Trains and orients all not plating line operators.
  • Acts as a backup for plating line mentors.
  • Provides computer programming for the plating lines to set up recipes and cycle times.
  • Perform hull cell and cross section testing as necessary.
  • Performs and coordinates all nickel chrome projects as directed by the area coordinator.
  • Provides input and recommendations for new and/or improved tooling design.
  • Could potentially handle hazardous waste in containerizing, transporting, testing, or other assigned duties.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs & Drivers.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Expected: One to two years related experience and/or training preferred.

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and travelers in order to follow proper procedures.
  • Must be able to read safety warnings and chemical labels.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally with others.

Other Skills:

  • Corrected vision and dexterous use of both hands.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand continuously for up to five hours.
  • Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive stooping, kneeling, reaching and pinching.
