SUMMARY: Sources and acquires quotes from, negotiates with and assures performance from the Lincoln Industries Global Supply Base. Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure we are receiving quality products at the most competitive rates in support of Lincoln Industries vision for growth. Lead the Lincoln Industries initiative to expand the supply base globally.

- Source new business to capable suppliers that aligns with Lincoln Industries growth initiatives.
- Responsible for acquiring, purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies for requisitioned material.
- Negotiates with suppliers to obtain quotations, prices and delivery times.
- Evaluates supplier capability and quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives.
- Oversees supplier performance to ensure accuracy and improvement progress.
- Monitors quality of goods by reviewing costs, schedules, timelines of delivery and conformance to specifications.
- Trains other people on proper purchasing skills and procedures.
- Forecasts, budgets and controls annual purchases of $35million. Knowledge of extrinsic factors relating to commodities and products purchased is needed.
- May initiate supplier self-assessments, conduct supplier audits, perform onsite assessments or audits.
- Reviews requisitions and confers with suppliers to obtain information concerning product, price, ability of vendor to produce product or service, and delivery date.
- Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers questions to determine factors affecting prices.
- Assist in transfers of work between sources as required
- Lead the Lincoln Industries initiative to expand the supply base globally.
- Develop and maintain communications with all levels of Lincoln Industries people and suppliers by communicating openly and honestly, treating all people with respect and courtesy.
- Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
- Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Director of Supply Management
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
Expected: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Minimum four years previous purchasing or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment to include raw materials, fabrications and assembly detail component purchasing. Low cost country experience.
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language. Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and engineering prints.
- Must communicate clearly with suppliers in written and verbal means.
Other Skills:
- Corrected vision and dexterous use of both hands.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
