The company that would become Lincoln Industries was founded by Dale LeBaron and family in 1952 as Lincoln Plating. What began as a small custom shop specializing in made to order plating solutions, the company shifted from serving the needs of consumers to serving the needs of companies over the next 20 years.
A key turning point in our history occurred with the passage of the 1972 Clean Water Act. The new legislation called for a significant reduction in the number of pollutants that made it into the country’s waterways, particularly from industrial facilities. Meeting the standards of the Clean Water Act required significant amounts of investment. We viewed this investment as an opportunity and a way to set us apart from our competitors, and moved forward with complete compliance by developing a water treatment facility. This key attitude at a critical time continues even today, was we aggressively meet new clean air regulations.
Over time, plating simply became one function of the complete solution Lincoln Industries was providing customers. With our aggressive growth, highly technical experts who know the entire process from start to finish and an entrepreneurial edge to readily handle and solve complex problems, a name change was necessary to represent the company’s new role as an integrated solutions provider. And so Lincoln Plating became Lincoln Industries.
Today, Lincoln Industries is a company that is a vertically integrated manufacturer of finishing-intensive products and service that serves a national customer base. Growth in sales has been accompanied with a history of strong profitability. Today more than ever, we are positioned to meet the changing needs of our customers. As the business environment continually grows and evolves, so too will Lincoln Industries.
