Black Ceramic Coating
Thu, June 25, 2009

In the Appril issue of Catalyst we discussed the advantages and value of our black oxide coating. This issue we’ll discuss the advantages of black ceramic coating and the value to the process that Lincoln Industries can bring.

Perfectly suited for corrosive and high temperature environments, black ceramic coating is highly valued for applications where heat management is a big issue, such as heat shields, mufflers, and exhaust systems. The advantages of black ceramic are described below.

Black ceramic coating protects against heat oxidation while providing good thermal insulation. We offer two versions of the coating, matte and semi gloss.  Color/glossiness can be formulated to meet specific applications.

The Lincoln Industries Difference
Providing black ceramic coating at the same specifications of our competitors is simply not part of our business plan.  We have added enhancements to our black ceramic coating process that improves the end product for our customers. The most important enhancement is a proprietary coating process exclusive to Lincoln Industries that creates an added barrier for corrosion. Though new, we have invested a lot—and will continue to invest—more in the process to enhance capacity and automation.
