More than a decade has passed since Lincoln Industries became ISO quality certified and today the improvements in quality continue. That is the finding from the most recent audit of the company’s quality systems by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
“We are both ISO and TS certified,” said Quality Management System Manager Mary Alber. “These are recognized throughout the world as the leading quality certifications. They are an important part of meeting our customers’ needs. Customers want to know if we can meet their requirements. What happens when there is a change? What happens when something goes wrong? They want to know we have the systems, checks and balances in place to get them their products.
“Our registration contract goes for three years and every six months we are required to perform a surveillance audit. This audit checks our systems and makes sure that we are doing what our quality systems say we should be doing,” said Mary.
The audit was conducted by Ian Broadbridge of LRQA.
“You have seen tremendous improvement in your internal rework,” said Broadbridge at the closing meeting.
“Your goals are aggressive and you continue to make progress on new methods to strengthen your quality systems.”
“Certification is all about: Documenting what you do. Do what you document. Prove it. Improve it,” said Quality and Reliability Manager Kirk Hazen.
“Our quality system is a living, changing system and people need to know what their responsibilities are in maintaining our procedures. It ties back to the importance of disciplined behavior and how this will allow Lincoln Industries to satisfy our customers.”
