Even though they are behind the scenes on many projects, almost every Lincoln Industries customer has come into contact with our Integration team. The Business Development and Integrated Finishing Services teams are often the first contact for projects like the cover story. However, early in the process, the Integration team is pulled in to help ensure the project scope and requirements are clearly understood so that all projects experience a successful launch and all customers are satisfied.
“One of the first things we do is to understand the customer’s requirements,” said Mike Hemann, Director of Integration and Development. “This sounds simple, but often involves cosmetic standards, functional performance, critical dimensions as well as testing to determine performance.”
The integration phase can take as little as a week or up to a year, depending upon the complexity of the project. Regardless of the time or complexity, the Integration Team works diligently to understand requirements, develop the appropriate processes, tooling and procedures, and evaluate actual vs. desired performance. Often this requires running prototype products and working closely with suppliers and customers to ensure optimal performance. The final phases of the integration process include documenting work instructions and working closely with Operations during project launch to help ensure the customer’s quality and delivery objectives are met from day one.
The Integration team truly is a key element of Lincoln Industries’ ability to successfully take on our customers’ most challenging projects. If you would like to learn more about our integration process, contact your Customer Service Representative or Matt Nyberg at 402.473.4360.
